Tour Itinerary

Day 1 | Negombo

On arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; Representative from Philanka Tours will Welcome you and transfer to Negombo.

The Hamilton Canal (also commonly known as the Dutch Canal) is a 14.5 km (9.0 mi) canal connecting Colombo to Negombo in Sri Lanka. The canal was constructed by the British in 1802 and completed in 1804. It was designed to drain salt water out of the Muthurajawela wetlands. The canal was named after Gavin Hamilton, the Government Agent of Revenue and Commerce.

 

Day 2 | Sigiriya and Dambulla

Breakfast at Hotel Transfer to Dambulla and Sigiriya. Dambulla Rock Temple was built by King Walagambahu during the 1st Century B.C. Dambulla is a UENESCO world heritage site. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding and the paintings are done on the ceiling.

After Lunch Climb the citadel of Sigiriya which was built in 5th century. Sigiriya is treated as one of the most remarkable creations in the world, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). Path through the gardens along Stone stairways come to the Lion Gate.

Day 3 | Polonnaruwa Ancient Ruins and Minneriya

Transfer to Polanaruwa

Polonnaruwa the second capital of Sri Lanka from 1017 A.D to 1235 A.D. Polonnaruwa is also a UNESCO world heritage city. You will be able to see the ruins of Royal Palace king Parakramabahu, Audience Hall, the statue of king Parakramabahu, Watadage, the Galpotha, Parakrama Samudraya (Sea of Parakrama) which was built by King Parakramabahu

Day 4 | Kandy

Morning drive to kandy & Rest of the day leisure(resting). Stay in Kandy.

Day 5 | kandy / Peradeniya

After Breakfast visit to Kandy city tour. Place to visit: Kandy town, Peradeniya botanical garden and bazaar, the arts and crafts center and a gem museum and lapidary. Gem Museum / Gem Mining / Gem cutting centers. Overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.

Day 6 | Kandy to Pasikuda

Start travelling to Pasikuda. Stay over there

Day 7 | Pasikuda

Leisure in Pasikuda. Around thirty-five kilometers northwest of Batticaloa town on the east coast of Sri Lanka lies Pasikuda, a coastal town with a spectacular, blue bay and soft, sandy beaches. The area of Pasikuda is also a great location for divers with shipwrecks to explore in the vicinity. Pasikuda is also in close proximity to Batticaloa, where one can enjoy the Batticaloa lagoon and explore the Dutch Fort.

Day 8 | Pasikuda

The turquoise blue waters of the bay attracts local and foreign tourist to this wide sandy place under the hot tropical sun to surf, swim or just frolic in the water. Many other activities are available from kite surfing, boogie boarding to surfing and sailing across in a canoe.

Day 9 | Negombo to Airport

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Airport for the departure flight.
