The north-west coast begins with the popular beach resort of Negombo – only a few miles from the international airport – but venture further north for whale and dolphin spotting, game parks and lagoons. Negombo apart, the remote coastal towns to the far north, Kalpitiya and Mannar, remain untouched by mass tourism. Wilpattu is arguably Sri Lanka’s most scenic national park, the seas off the coast of Kalpitiya are home to dolphins and whales while Mannar is a haven for exotic migrant birds from October to March. A largely unchanged region awaiting discovery.

ALANKUDA

Alankuda Beach in Sri Lanka is a stretch beach recently developed in the Kalpitiya peninsula off the north western coast of Sri Lanka. Alankuda Beach is a starting point for off-shore Whale Watching and Dolphin watching at Kalpitiya. Alankuda Beach offers a range of water sports: sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, canoeing, kite surfing and snorkeling.

KALPITIYA

Kalpitiya is located in Puttalam district, North Western province of Sri Lanka. It is known for its serene beauty. It consists of 14 islands. It has a total area of 16.73 km2. The people of Kalpitiya are mostly fishermen. It is now developing as an attractive tourist destination.

CHILAW

Chilaw lies just a few kilometres south of Puttalam and is an admirable city where people of varying backgrounds, religions and ethnicity live together in peace and harmony. The beach is calm and tranquil allowing you to lay back in complete relaxation and swim at ease. Relating to the post Portuguese and Dutch colonial era, the town is famous for pearls and a large fishing community which specialize in crab and prawn farming.

NEGOMBO

Seafood and generally known for the spicy savories served at beach restaurants and hotels are not what which wraps up Negombo. The blue waters beyond the Negombo beach are decent for a dropdown right after the International airport of Bandaranaike at Sri Lanka.
