Mr. Priyantha Ratnayake is a co-founder and director of Canwil Tours (Pvt) Ltd. who has more than 20 years of experience in diverse disciplines of public and private sector holding executive and consultant level posts. He has graduated with the BA degree including the subjects of economics, sociology and statistics from the University of Peradeniya , Sri Lanka in the year 1997 and subsequently, obtained M.Sc, in Natural Resource Management from the Postgraduate institute of Agriculture of the University of Pedradeniya. Having started his career as a Government Accredited Sinhala – English Translator in the year 1998 , he had gained fluency in speaking English and advanced writing and become a well experienced interpreter and scientific writer. He has a vast working experience with international delegation of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) , United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) , Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and International Fund for Agriculture Development(IFAD), World Bank and the European Union.
After retirement from the public service in the year 2018 he joined to the Natural Resource Management Group , the leading Natural Resource consultancy firm in Sri Lanka as an Environmental and Natural Resource Consultant. During his tenure as the consultant, he has rendered his consultancy services in various development projects relating to eco-tourism, agro-tourism, forestry and wildlife and Irrigation and Water Management.
Further, he is a licensed National Tourist Guide Lecturer of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), the mandatory government body which handle and regulate all the tourism related businesses of the country. Apart from that, he joined to the Canwil Tours (Pvt) Ltd. In the year 2020. Since then, he has been rendering his outstanding service to the company as well as to the tourism sector of the country. The vast knowledge and experience that he gained in multi-disciplinary sectors is a great treasure which is able to be utilized for the betterment of our company and ultimately for the development of tourism sector of Sri Lanka.
